Q. Perhaps an unfair question: Don’t you think it’s better to have a full lockdown and be done with ‘breaking the chain’ than have a partial one that extends to two or three months?

A. I feel the current strategy to combat Covid needs a strategy. Lockdown seems to be a panacea for all Covid-related issues. But is the core problem getting mitigated? Facts don’t seem to corroborate any solution to the Covid surge directionally that is afflicting the nation. But an additional infliction of livelihood is creeping in. Lockdown only accentuates that. So, personally, I am against a lockdown. Stricter disciplinary action for citizens to conform to appropriate behaviour, widespread vaccination and real-time health care support system would be more impactful. This is my personal view and needn’t have to be agreed upon.
