BhaskarThe sentiment we experienced wasn’t make-believe. We’ve been anguished by the arrest of former BARC CEO Partho Dasgupta, and the statements of the Mumbai police thereafter. This is what prompted us to ask Dr Bhaskar Das what we did. Without further ado, presenting the December 28 edition of Das ka Dum.

Q. 02. Over the last few days, I have been very anguished by the revelations (and counter-revelations) in India’s media ecosystem. May as well switch to soft focus stories and plugs, I told myself, given the ‘investment’ one has made in relationships and reverence (to the craft and craftpersons). I know it can’t be achieved in a few words, but please help in pulling me out of this state of depression and anguish

A. Get inspired from a quote of  Bard of Avon: Hope is a lover’s staff, walk hence with that.

And manage it against despairing thoughts.

The moral of the story is that don’t get deluded by impermanence of occurrences. In fact that creates possibility and hope. When you get impacted by an undesirable narrative of your own mind, just remain detached from it and move towards a positive side of each experience. In fact, you start imbibing a practice called ‘Now’topia, so that you can distance yourself from any dystopian feeling.
