Q. We recently interviewed a media owner and he kind-of indicated that the future is brighter for non-metro newspapers. Do you agree?

A. On the basis of current data points the surmise is legit. But it may be too early to consider that as a definitive trend for the future. It’s a fact that non-metros are less affected in the current pandemic than the metros viz from the distribution angle initially and then from the business generation point of view because customers were not visiting stores due to the fear of the infection. When the business scene gets vibrant , I am sure even metros will show a sign of revival. Having said that, the non- metros are certainly coming back to normal faster than the metros, if one goes by empirical evidences.
