Q. If an events company were to come to you for advice on how it should navigate the world given the Covid-19 scare and near-zero business, what would your advice be (since it’s free, you may keep it short 😉 )?

A. An answer to this question can only be guesswork. When any business that has proximity as an intrinsic requirement, how would they counter the contra requirement of society to follow social distancing. I instinctively feel the solution has to be tech-led. Virtual below-the-line execution has to be imagined. Or technology has to warn in any gathering when one human being comes beyond the permissible limit of distance from each other. Bots can minimise lot of human-led repetitive activities. In short, software-led technologies and digital interventions could find a solve to this challenge. Post that, business models have to be recalibrated. The Covid crisis can ignite human imagination and develop unforeseen solutions. I am a firm believer of the fact that needs are sustained but satiation has to be contemporary and pragmatic to the situation. Finally, it’s not a consultancy job, it’s more about reimagining business and explore possibilities. Sometime not knowing the answer is an advantage.
