Q. As a media veteran, what is your view on news media entities taking a position on socio- and geo-political issues? Should they or should they not?

A. There is nothing wrong in taking positions. Heterogeneity is normal in a healthy democracy. The subjective debate would always happen around the perception if position taken benefits people, society, country and the world. Does the position taken deepen or widen the possibility of larger benefaction? When taking position, fracture emotions and society, universal good get affected. Then society finds its own palliative balm beyond the positions taken. As a filmy dialogue says: never underestimate the wisdom of the common man.
